Enjoy a guided bike tour to the former riverside home of Henry VIII. After meeting in central London, we take a short train ride to Richmond where we board our comfy vintage-style bikes. You can use one of our baskets to rest your camera in and maybe a slice of cake. The ride is a flat 7 miles (12km) with plenty of time to explore gourmet cafes, pass Marble Hill and haunted Ham House, enjoy a little Monty Python and pause at a scenic riverside pub.
We see where Henry fell in love with Anne Boleyn, and where Elizabeth I died ending the Tudor dynasty. We also hear the history of the monarchy's mistresses and whipping boys, and the numerous ghosts that now inhabit their past. We also pass the homes of rock glitterati such as Mick Jagger and see why the area is known as "Hollywood on Thames".
Pausing at a riverside pub we can refresh ourselves before arriving at the palace around lunchtime. The afternoon is spent at your leisure exploring over 1300 rooms in the palace, 60 acres of gardens, and of course the world famous maze. You can also experience England's largest medieval kitchens, and hunt for the screaming ghost of Catherine Howard.
You return to London by train at your leisure, with the palace closing at 18:00hrs in peak season.
N.B. During the summer season there is the chance to upgrade to return to Kingston, Richmond or Westminster by boat
