Day 1
Departing from Edinburgh make your way to lonely Rannoch Moor and into Glen Coe, Scotland’s most famous glen and the scene of the terrible massacre in 1692. Enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery and the magic of this special place. From Fort William the striking scenery of the Great Glen unfolds ahead of you – first Loch Lochy, then Loch Oich and finally Loch Ness. You will tour through the attractive village of Fort Augustus then drive the entire length of Loch Ness. A stop is included at Urquhart Castle, where you have free time to visit the Castle* and take a cruise on the loch*. Arrive in Inverness, your home for tonight. You can choose either to stay overnight in a guest house or a hotel in Inverness. Your stay is unescorted.

Day 2
This morning enjoy a wonderful excursion to scenic Glen Affric, considered by many to be Scotland’s most picturesque glen. This dramatic and beautiful gorge contains the gushing River Affric and is the quintessential Highland Glen complete with mountains and moorland. Glen Affric is home to one of the largest remnants of the ancient Caledonian pine forest left in Scotland. You will stop here so you can take in these spectacular surroundings. There is free time in Inverness for shopping before heading through the gentle Spey Valley through the stunning scenery of the Drumochter Pass. Keep a close watch for the deer that often come down to the roadside to graze. There are wonderful views of majestic Blair Castle before you drive back to Edinburgh through the Perthshire countryside. En route there will be a stop for afternoon tea (not included)
