The Head of the River Race is a rowing competition held each March on the River Thames. Over 400 crews of 8 competitors take part, all vying for that coveted first place! The race stretches over 4 ¼ miles, beginning in Mortlake, Richmond, and ending in Putney. The first race took place in 1926 and attracts crews from all over the world! Spectators line the river to cheer on the teams and enjoy the beginning of spring. Head to Chiswick Bridge, Barnes Bridge, or Hammersmith Bridge to get great views of the action.
The Head of the River Race is set to take place on Sunday 29 March 2015 at 12pm.
