We had the privilege of having a "live" guide on Golden Tours' hop-on-hop-off bus last Saturday (we had purchased a 48-hour pass and there was only an audio guide and not a "live" guide on the first day of our tour). The guide, Dominic, was EXTREMELY witty, knowledgeable, helpful and made our entire London trip (not just our experience with Golden Tours) absolutely memorable.

I booked a family ticket online and used it the following day on our day trip to London.
The bus we travelled on was clean and the driver and his assistant were friendly and helpful. We had planned to hop on and off but we were all enjoying seeing the sights we stayed on till the end of the tour(tower bridge). The bus ticket included a free boat trip with thames clippers which we used to make our way back into the city.

When we were deciding which open bus tour to take, we looked at several. My husband and 16 year old daughter and I decided on this one because their 48-hour option was a great value and we liked the number of stops offered for hop-on/hop-off service. We have been in London for three weeks, traveling mostly by underground and wanted a good chance to see more of London up top. Robin was a terrific guide - he is an encyclopedia of English history and was kind enough to answer of millions of questions. He may know everything.
Side note: The 48-hour also offers a complimentary riverboat ride and walking tour. We LOVED it.

We did the half day tour of London's main sights with David Simmons as our guide and Robert, the driver. As it was Boxing Day, there were only 5 of us, which was perfect! We hopped on and off for photo ops, toured St. Paul's Cathedral, saw the changing of the Calvary and all the main sights, like Buckingham Palace, houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, etc. David was very informative and an incredibly interesting guide. I'd recommend his tours (he works privately too) anytime.

The tour organised by Golden Tours was excellent. We are very happy with their prompt service and would highly recommend it to any one visiting London. The narrative given on the open bus was quite good in terms of history and architecture. The staff at the bus station was quite friendly and helpful. The bus service was on time.

My wife and I took the open top bus from Kensington around to Tower Hill at 9.45 am today. The tour had Gordon on board as a guide and he was very knowledgeable and gave excellent commentary throughout the journey. He was witty and humorous and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. We took other non guided buses on the route during the day and these were not as enjoyable. You should provide more live guides as they are much better than earphone commentary. We thought this hop on hop off tour, which included a river trip, was well organised and the price provided very good value for money.

It's a must-do experience! If it's your first time in London and you're lucky to do the 48H sightseeing with Mr. Gordon (the tour guide) and Mr. Paul (the bus driver) you can expect 100% fun guaranteed. I had so much fun hearing Mr. Gordon's explanations about London's history and curiosities of certain places and monuments that I couldn't get enough of it. It was my very first experience in London but for sure it won't be the last because I've had a great time exploring the city. Looking forward to come back again anytime soon!! Once again thank you very much Sir Gordon and Sir Paul.

Was in London for a week. Was lucky enough to find Goldentours. Had the best price for an open bus tour. To my surprise the guide was one of the funniest most informed guides I've ever met. Highly Recommend!
