I took the half day stonehenge only tour from London. I really enjoyed this tour and recommend it to anyone who wants to see stonehenge without any hassles or problems. I booked it over the phone with no problems and told the tour operators I wanted to be picked up from my hotel. Since they didnt service my hotel for pick-ups, they offered to pick me up at a nearby hotel. This was super convenient for me and they showed up RIGHT ON TIME and were really helpful and polite. They took me (and other patrons) to the main meeting point where the tours depart from. We boarded the tour bus and headed off to Stonehenge. It took a couple of hours to reach our destination. They provided me with entrance to the site and with listening headphones for a self-guided tour. We had approx 1 to 1.5 hrs at Stonehenge, which was plenty of time to see the sights and tour the gift shop. Restrooms and a concession stand are also available here. Then, it was back on the bus for the trip back to London. They dropped everyone off at a different place at the end of the tour, which initially worried me, but I had no problems finding my way to the Tube. It's a great, inexpensive tour....and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I want to sing the praises of Golden Tours & in particular, our Guide for the day, Tony, when we went on a tour that included Windsor Castle, Bath & Stonehenge. We were picked up from our hotel in Knightsbridge as promised at around 8.15am & proceeded to the central pick up point at Victoria Coach Station to pick up the rest of the tourists who had booked the same tour. We were on the road by around 8.55am. Tony (our Guide) was a wealth of knowledge, had a great sense of humour and made the tour even more enjoyable for us than we could have expected. To sum up the 3 destinations of our tour: Windsor Castle was great - Queen Mary's Doll House was actually better than I had expected & the parts of the Castle that you get to see are just amazing!! Bath was absolutely gorgeous and the Bath House was worth the visit. Lots of things to see and do whilst in Bath. Stonehenge was for me the highlight - all I can say is WOW!!! Back to Tony, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant - if they could clone more of him, the company would be all the better for it - Thanks Tony for making our day such a memorable one!!!

We booked the Simply Stonehenge tour through Golden Tours. We were hesitant with the bus ride but wanted to do the tour. Our bus driver, Benson, made the trip enjoyable. His pleasant attitude and funny commentary made the ride great. On the way out of London, he provided us with interesting facts about the city of London. At Stonehenge it was raining. I've head it rains often there so please bring rain gear. One and a half hours is more than enough time to visit the site. The audio recorders are included in the admission price and provide great information. On the way back in to the city, the police closed a road which caused major traffic problems. Benson kept us informed and apologized as we maneuvered through traffic. Needless to say, my most memorable parts of this trip were Benson and then the rocks.

A stress free journey by coach, just under 90mins to get there. nice cheerful driver (Max) Once at Stonehenge, included is a nice pre recorded audio tour that use listen through a supplied handset, it takes you slowy around the site giving a pretty good tour. There are hot/cold food stands and a gift shop, but give yourself an extra 15 mins if you want food/gifts as it gets very very busy. Stonehenge looks amazing in the spring/summer months, so book now!

Very well organized tour to Stonehenge. Despite of wind it was a good experience with this mysterious place. I recommend the Golden Tour as a travel operator.

We booked our trip on rather short notice while we had some friends in town. Site was fairly user friendly, and we booked very easily - even offered different currencies to pay in, which is useful for our out of town friends. They still had availability on the bus; not overcrowded at all. Our driver Benson was very entertaining and enjoyed a good bit of banter with my husband. The tour did just what it said: drive out to Stonehenge and come back again. Drive was smooth and passed fairly quickly, and they left about an hour or so out at Stonehenge. This really is more than enough unless you're really super into some aspects of it (in which case I recommend a different tour). Our tickets were already in order and we just went straight in, and the tour includes admission and the audio guide, so it was fairly handy. Bus is comfortable, Driver was entertaining, had a toilet (but I can't see any way to deal with handicap / disabled access to the bus), tour did just exactly what it advertised, and booking was fairly simple & user friendly. Definitely recommend the coach tour, as it is much cheaper & quicker to do Stonehenge on a coach tour than organizing the transport via train out there.
