The Spire of Salisbury Cathedral
The tallest in England at 123m (404ft) - soars to the heavens, and marked a revolution in cathedral architecture when it was built 700 years ago. In the Chapter House, you will see the Magna Carta, the famous agreement made between King John and his barons at Runnymede in 1215.
Oldest Clock in the World
Salisbury Cathedral holds the oldest working medieval clock in the world. It was made by 1386 and was originally installed in the detached Bell Tower. It is made from hand-wrought iron. As is usual for this period there is no face, the clock being designed only to strike hours.
