Florence Nightingale Museum

 

Florence Nightingale became a living legend as the 'Lady with the Lamp'. She led the nurses caring for thousands of soldiers during the Crimean War and helped save the British army from medical disaster. The Museum is a short walk from the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and attractions along the South Bank. We are located in the grounds of St Thomas’ Hospital, at parking level. The Museum is independent and has over 2000 artifacts owned by and associated with Florence Nightingale, the Crimean War, nursing and Florence Nightingales legacy. It is located on the site of the original Nightingale Training School for Nurses, at St Thomas’ Hospital on London’s vibrant South Bank

The Collection Highlights of Florence Nightingale Museum includes the Florence’s slate she used as a child, her pet owl Athena, to the Turkish lantern used in the Crimean War, the collection spans the life of Florence Nightingale, the Crimean War and Florence’s nursing legacy up to the present day. You can also know about Mary Seacole, Crimean War and The Victorians.

Groups of over 15 are required to book their visit to the museum. We only accept group bookings after 2pm.

Visitors can hear Florence’s story in her own words through audio hot spots around the museum. The audio tour is included in the admission price. An introduction to the museum for your group costs £50.
