St Jhone's House

Social History Collection:
The Social History collection reflects the lives of Warwickshire people over the last 300 years. It includes costume and textiles, dolls and toys, and a variety of everyday objects from ploughs to plaster ducks! To develop the collection, we work with people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and collect aspects of life in Warwickshire in the 20th and 21st centuries.

Behind the Scenes Collection:
Many of the objects in our collection, such as costume and textiles, are fragile and need help to survive. We try to protect them from risks such as light, fluctuating temperature and humidity, and insect damage.

Dolls and Toys

This collection includes dolls, toys and games from the late 18th century to the present day. The oldest doll dates from the 1770's, and the most recent is a 'Bratz' doll. There are also puzzles and games, musical and moving toys and several doll's houses.

Costume and Textiles
The costume and textile collection features objects dating from the 17th century to the present day. This includes clothing worn by Warwickshire people over the last 200 years, and various textile items such as 19th century samplers and 17th century raised work embroidery.
