Enjoy a guided bike tour to the world's largest and oldest inhabited castle. After meeting in central London, we take a short train ride to the stunning Thames Valley where we board our comfy vintage-style bikes. You can use one of our baskets to rest your camera in and maybe a slice of cake. The ride is a flat 7 miles (12km) with plenty of time to explore gourmet cafes, pass Tudor mansions and glide along the Olympic rowing lake before arriving to a fine riverside view of the castle.
En-route we see where Kate Middleton's parents got married, and hear tales of the English restoration of the monarchy.
Pausing at some garden tea rooms we can refresh ourselves before arriving at the castle originally built by William the Conqueror around lunchtime.
We enjoy a short walking tour of Windsor visiting Sir Christopher Wren's Guildhall, the Crooked House and the only blue post box in England. The afternoon is spent at your leisure exploring Windsor Castle with its fine State Apartments, resting place of Henry VIII in St.George's chapel and the largest doll's house in the world.
You return to London by train at your leisure, with the palace closing at 17:15hrs in peak season.
N.B. The State Apartments can be subject to closure at short notice in the event of formal engagements
