Easter is always a crowd favourite. Whether you like eating mountains of chocolate eggs, enjoy a four-day break, or love seeing the kids’ eyes light up at the mention of a very famous bunny, it’s the holiday with something for everyone. What could possibly make it better? Spending it in London, of course.

Here are some things to do at Easter in London in 2024 that will get you in the spirit.

The Lindt GOLD BUNNY Hunt

Making its return in 2024, the Lindt GOLD BUNNY Hunt will be back at Hampton Court Palace this Easter season from 23 March to 14 April. Designed for ages 3-12, it’s a perfect day out for the family. Join in the fun as you hunt for the coveted Lindt GOLD BUNNY statues while exploring Henry VIII’s gardens and historic surrounds. Once you have found all of the statues, you will be rewarded with a 10g GOLD BUNNY.

London Easter 10k

Want to add a little movement to your Easter break? Then, this 10k route around Regent’s Park is calling your name. Take in the sights of the park including the boating lake and Broad Walk, Money Fountain and even the London Zoo as you loop the mapped-out tarmac path three times. Perfect for runners of all abilities, the London Easter 10k is an enjoyable day out for the whole family with other races including the Adults Fun Run and Junior Race also available.

The Passion of Jesus in Trafalgar Square

Performed by 78 actors, alongside two horses and a donkey, The Passion of Jesus is a 90-minute open-air play hosted by Trafalgar Square on Good Friday (29 March 2024). The play is free to attend and is also broadcast on a big screen in the square to ensure everyone can see it. The performances begin at 12pm and 3:15pm, and it’s advised to arrive around 40 minutes beforehand as it gets very busy.

Solemn Easter Services

if you are looking for a religious service over the Easter long weekend, Westminster Abbey, Southwark Cathedral, or St Paul’s Cathedral all offer services. You can attend events such as the Solemn Liturgy of the Passion, Vigil and First Eucharist of Easter, Holy Communion, and more. Whether you are particularly religious or not, all are welcome into the impressive churches, and you are bound to be awed by the stunning architecture and grandeur of the mass.

Afternoon Tea Bus

Not your traditional Easter activity, but definitely a memorable one – a ride on the Afternoon Tea Bus is an excellent way to see the amazing sights of London while enjoying an array of delicious food and drink. Think Big Ben, the London Eye and Westminster Abbey plus scones with jam and cream, sandwiches, and sweet treats. You can soak up the views of famous locations and landmarks with a glass of Prosecco or hot tea, and cheers to a lovely long weekend!

Sunday Roast

A tradition believed to have been started during King Henry VIII’s reign in the 15th century, the humble Sunday roast has a long and delicious history. Every Sunday after church, Henry VIII’s royal guards would enjoy freshly roasted beef – which is where the term ‘Beefeaters’ came from and nowadays Brits everywhere enjoy a plate of roasted beef, chicken, ham or pork and a good helping of potatoes and vegetables. Head to a London pub on Easter Sunday for tradition’s sake!

Hop-On Hop-Off Bus

If you are looking for a way to see all of London on the Easter weekend, then the Golden Tours Hop-On Hop-Off Bus is a convenient way to tick the must-see items off your list. The open-top bus provides you with panoramic views of the city and its most famous landmarks and locations. With an audio guide available on every bus, and the option to hop off and on at your leisure, it’s a wonderful Easter weekend activity suitable for the whole family.
