There’s so much history to be found throughout England, it can be difficult packing it all in to your visit! This tour to Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge on New Year’s Day conveniently takes you to three of our most inspiring attractions that have a solid place in England’s past. First stop is magnificent Windsor Castle to view the State Apartments, followed by a stop at the ancient monument of Stonehenge and a visit to the charming city of Bath to explore the Roman Baths.
Windsor Castle is the oldest occupied castle in the world and favourite weekend getaway for Queen Elizabeth II! The Queen winds down in this breathtaking castle and you’ll certainly see why during a visit to pretty Windsor. The castle dates back to Norman times and features sweeping landscaped gardens and a turreted Round Tower. You will be able to explore the ornate State Apartments, filled with priceless artworks by artists such as Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, and enjoy a fascinating insight into the life of the Royals.
You will also visit St George’s Chapel, the final resting place for a number of Royals including Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Check out Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House – this gorgeous dolls house comes complete with working lifts, running water and electricity!
From Windsor Castle, the tour continues towards Salisbury Plain and the site of Stonehenge. This jaw-dropping monument is around 5,000 years old and has been designated a World Heritage Site. Still an enigma even in the 21st century, Stonehenge continues to perplex experts about its uses! Theories range from a Bronze Age burial ground to astronomical clock and even a religious temple, but you’ll be able to decide for yourself during your visit.

The Georgian city of Bath is one of England’s most treasured cities. Beautiful Bath was the first city in England to be designated a World Heritage Site and has drawn visitors to its cobbled streets for decades. You will take a panoramic tour of Bath to see a number of landmarks including Bath Abbey, the romantic Pulteney Bridge and the Roman Baths.
Visit the Roman Baths to get a fantastic insight into the attraction that gave the city its name. This wonderfully preserved bathing complex still flows with water from Britain’s only hot spring and was a place for the Romans to relax and enjoy their leisure time. You will be able to explore the Roman Baths and learn all about this unique landmark!
