London Wetland Center
Visit London to see the wildlife reserve at WWT London Wetland Centre .WWT London Wetland Centre is Europe's major urban wildlife reserve. Roam the beautiful walkways amongst the lakes and pools of this 105 acre wildlife haven, perfect for spotting birds, amphibians, bats, butterflies and a colony of water voles. World Wetlands is home to rare birds from around the world, or watch wild birds from our numerous hides or from the comfort of our Observatory. Each day we run free walks with an expert guide. Relax in our Water's Edge Café - or let the kids run free in their own adventure areas. Children can also have great fun at London with some of the London attractions for kids like visiting the London Wetland Centre would provide them an entertaining experience. The best way to see the sights and sounds of London are through the London guided tour or the coach tours London.
A mosaic of created wetland habitats spread over 43 hectares, developed on the site of a disused Victorian reservoir, forms the site of the London Wetland Centre. Wander around and explore the wetlands, but also make sure you include The Peter Scott Visitor Centre in your trip. The Visitor Centre allows people to get closer to wildlife. There are TV monitors in the buildings broadcasting pictures beamed from the wilderness areas of the reserve, coupled with interactive computers allowing visitors to explore the secret world of birds and wetland wildlife. If you look carefully you may be lucky enough to spot some rare birds - sightings include a Spoonbill, more likely to be seen in Africa, while Bittern are one of the rare winter visitors. A hidden gem and not just for the twitchers.
