London is one of the most celebrated cities in the world and a favourite European tourist destination. Millions of tourist every year enjoys the famous London attractions and sightseeing.

Lord's has long been seen as the 'Home of Cricket' and the game's spiritual 'headquarters'. But its importance is not merely historical. Above all, Lord's is the setting for some of the best cricket in the world. It hosts npower Test matches and NatWest-sponsored one-day internationals plus most of Middlesex's home games, some historic fixtures (such as Oxford v Cambridge) and the village and club finals.

MCC Musueum

Welcome to the Marylebone Cricket Club - better known, throughout the cricketing world, as MCC. Founded in 1787, MCC is the world's most famous cricket club.

Today, MCC's role remains as relevant as ever. From guarding the game's Laws to safeguarding its Spirit, and from promoting cricket to young people to looking after Lord's, MCC is committed to the good of the game.

MCC's teams play around 500 matches a year. They set off for overseas tours to destinations as diverse as Tanzania and Cyprus to help increase cricket's international appeal; and its women's side have more and more matches too.

It is always busy at the famous old ground too. Lord's hosts: npower Test matches; one day internationals; Middlesex's Twenty20, County Championship and Pro40 matches; as well as the showpiece finals for the Friends Provident Trophy, Minor Counties Cup and Cockspur Cup too.

Moreover, Lord's stages many events off the field including the annual Cowdrey Lecture - part of the Club's worldwide campaign to ensure that a great game is always played in a truly sportsmanlike way.

Looking to the future, MCC is investing heavily in Lord's to ensure that the ground remains world-class, as well as world-famous. For example, the Club is developing three portable pitches on its Nursery Ground and has installed a video analysis suite (including 'HawkEye' technology) in its Indoor Cricket School.

Such projects follow MCC's completion, at the start of the 2005 season, of a multi-million pound project to restore its famous Pavilion (a listed building) to pristine condition.

MCC is delighted that the Pavilion will provide the backdrop to the archery event when, in 2012, London hosts the Olympic Games.
