Milton Keynes Gallery
Milton Keynes Gallery has three elegant display spaces on the ground floor (see next pages for details), which receive compliments from the public, visiting artists and arts world professionals alike. Each gallery varies spatially, and together they give Milton Keynes Gallery the flexibility to present any combination of 1-3 exhibitions at a time. Providing a total 300m2 of exhibition space, the galleries are deliberately restrained in design, enabling Milton Keynes Gallery to meet the wide-ranging display requirements of contemporary art. Regular visitors notice that the spaces can alter dramatically for each exhibition, assisted by temporary changes such as false walls or ceilings, black-outs or alternative wall colours.
Milton Keynes Gallery and Milton Keynes Theatre were designed by Blonski | Heard Architects. The complex was short-listed for the Royal Fine Art Commission ís Building of the Year (2000) and has won Civic Trust and Concrete Society Awards.
The Cube Gallery, sponsored by Denton Wilde Sapte, Solicitors - A dramatic cube-shaped space, overlooked at 1st floor level by a window from the Events Room. Doorway connecting with Middle Gallery. Lighting - suffused natural daylight and/or artificial light. Dimensions: Length 8m Width 8m Height 8m
