Wardon Park Museum
Wardown Park Museum is a part of the Museums Luton family of museums, which is governed by Luton Cultural Services Trust. Museums Luton is a partner of Renaissance East of England.
Situated in the beautiful landscaped Wardown Park, the museum offers a range of galleries starting from the lace gallery, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire regimental gallery, Luton Life gallery to the ever changing exhibition galleries.
The museum holds around four temporary exhibitions a year on different subjects. Wardown Park Museum also holds events and activities for all ages and interests throughout the year.
The ground floor houses the lace, exhibition and Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire regimental gallery, also a cosy tearoom serving drinks and snacks and the museum shop selling souvenirs, local history publications and old photographs.
Situated on the second floor, the Luton Life gallery displays the stories of Lutonian and their life over the past 150 years. This gallery is highly interactive providing visitors with hands-on exhibits, sensory panels and touch-screen computers.

Wardown Park Museum hosts a range of diverse collections that bring the history of Luton to life.
Luton Life
The first floor galleries opened as the Luton Life displays in February 2003.
Funded with the assistance of the Heritage Lottery Fund, the displays explore the stories of Luton people over the past 150 years.
Hat Collection
The collection on this page and on display in the museum is a mere representation of round about 700 hats old and new, with the oldest dating from 1700.
Lace Collection
Lace collection is located on one of the ground floor galleries of the museum.
Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment
This gallery in the museum displays the history and objects of this infantry regiment of the line in the British Army from 1881 to 1958.

Wardown Park Museum is one mile or about 20 minutes walk from Luton (Town) railway station, down Midland Road and along Old Bedford Road.
By Car
1 mile from Luton Town Centre along A6 towards Bedford.
By Rail
The closest station is Luton (Town) Station (Midland Road exit)

By Bus
Monday – Saturday catch the Arriva bus No. 24 or 25 from Stop S1 in Silver Street, Luton Town Centre. Buses run every 15 minutes.
You can also get to Wardown Park Museum by taking Centre bus
No.231 from Stop S5 in Luton Town Centre.
On Sundays catch the Arriva bus No. 24 or 21, Stop S1 in Luton
Town Centre.
Bus stops are located in Silver Street at the back of The Mall shopping centre
