At-Bristol as a leading science centre
At-Bristol uses the very latest hands-on and multimedia techniques to engage people of all ages in a journey of discovery through science. The public exhibition space on the ground and first floor is a grand total of 3200m2
In addition to the exhibition space, At-Bristol also hosts an exhibit maintenance and development workshop and has a dedicated education suite including laboratories, classrooms and ICT facilities.
The Planetarium
Housed in a spectacular chrome sphere, At-Bristol has its own 90-seater Planetarium. Visitors can watch presenter-led seasonal night sky shows beneath an immersive domed screen. Since opening in 2000, the Planetarium has become an iconic symbol of Bristol, attracting photographers, film crews and tourists alike.
Learning programme
At-Bristol has an extensive formal learning programme directly linked to the National Curriculum from Foundation stage through to post 16.
An extensive public programme includes interactive shows, storytelling, science drama, Meet the Expert sessions and science demonstrations and investigations.
The Learning team additionally delivers funded projects, exploring innovative education practices and new learning technologies, and develops partnership projects with science researchers, industry, education specialists and other science communicators.

10am-6pm on weekends, bank holidays and daily during Bristol school holidays
10am-5pm on weekdays (Bristol schools term-time only)
‘Late entry’ is available an hour and a half before closing, from:
4.30pm on weekends, bank holidays and daily during Bristol school holidays
3.30pm on weekdays (term-time only)
By train
The closest train station is Bristol Temple Meads. From there, At-Bristol is a 20 minute walk, a 5 minute taxi ride, a 17 minute ferry ride or a 10 minute bus ride.
By bus
You can get the 8 or 9 First service to College Green from Bristol Temple Meads station.
From College Green walk down the side of Bristol Cathedral and At-Bristol will be in front of you.
Alternatively, you can get any bus to the city centre, or directly to Anchor Road.
By Park and Ride
Secure parking at Brislington (A4) or Long Ashton (A370) then a bus ride to the city centre..
By Air
