Description
On this five-day tour, you will travel from London to the Cotswolds and then onto Wales while enjoying your guide's knowledge and incredible scenery.
Day 1
The start of the tour will take you through the Cotswolds Village, where you can bask in the beauty of the ancient area before moving onto the rolling hills of the Welsh borders. Your first stop is Hay-on-Wye, the ‘town of books’ located north of the Brecon Beacons National Park. You will pass Elan Valley and drive up into the Cambrian Mountains en route to the seaside town of Aberystwyth. This is where you will be based for the next two nights.
Day 2
Admire the mountainous landscape of Snowdonia National Park before visiting the beautiful village of Beddgelert, where you can see the grave of ‘Gelert’. Next, you will travel to the medieval Harlech Castle. With views overlooking the peaks of Snowdonia and the sea, it is a stunning way to finish the day before returning to Aberystwyth in the late afternoon.
Day 3
Leaving Aberystwyth, the tour will move to the coast of Cardigan Bay through the town of Aberaeron and to New Quay. Take pictures on the sandy harbour and keep an eye out for dolphins and whales. You will then travel inland and explore the Dinefwr Estate and its ruined castle, before heading to Laugharne on Wales’s south coast where Dylan Thomas once lived. From there you will travel to Tenby, a charming seaside town where you will be based for two nights.
Day 4
See more of Britain’s gorgeous coastlines as you travel to Pembroke Shire Coast National Park. Enjoy lunch at the tiny cathedral city of St Davids before stopping at the county town of Pembroke, where you can enter the medieval walls of the castle. You will then return to Tenby for a relaxed evening.
Day 5
On the final day of the trip, you will begin your journey back to London travelling past big industrial cities of South Wales for a visit to the outdoor National Museum of History at St Fagans. You will then take the Severn Crossing back into England with one final break at Castle Combe in the Cotswolds. Enjoy a relaxed stroll amongst the 16th-century ironstone cottages before arriving back in Central London.
