Description
Discover the spectacular views and secrets of Loch Ness on this short-day tour with an optional boat cruise.
Loch Ness is a mythical place filled with wonder and beauty, and now it’s your turn to experience the legends of Inverness and beyond. See stunning vistas, learn about the historic ruins of Urquhart Castle from your knowledgeable guide, and take the roads less travelled.
While you may not see the Loch Ness Monster, you are guaranteed a great time and unbelievable scenery during your visit.
You will start the tour by leaving Inverness and following the Caledonian Canal to the source of the River Ness before venturing to Dores on the eastern side of the loch. The tiny village has a beach and striking views of Loch Ness and the Great Glen Fault. Pose for photos and keep an eye out for Nessie!
Next, you will drive to Foyers, where you can walk through native pine trees and see the stunning waterfall. After you visit the falls, you will continue south. Driving on single-track roads through a forested landscape, you will arrive at Fort Augustus. You can enjoy lunch and admire the boats coming in through the Caledonian Canal.
Next on the trip is Invermoriston, where you can wander to an old summerhouse with views of River Moriston. Be on high alert for the Loch Ness Monster. Whether you believe in legends or not, you can’t help but get swept up in the intrigue and excitement of it all. At this point, you will have the option to embark on a one-hour cruise and sail past Urquhart Castle.
The tour will then continue along Loch Ness and return to Inverness in the early evening.
