A town unlike any other you’ll find in Britain, Windsor is located on the scenic banks of the River Thames and is overlooked by one of the most famous Royal residences in the world – Windsor Castle! This day trip by rail is the stress-free way to get acquainted with Windsor and will get you from Paddington Station to the Berkshire town in under an hour! This package also includes a hop-on hop-off bus tour and entry to Windsor Castle.

London to Windsor by Rail
Make your own way to meet the Golden Tours representative who will be standing outside the National Rail ticket office in front of Platform 1 at London’s Paddington Station for 8.25am. Your train to Windsor will leave at 8.55am, arriving in the town 44 minutes later!

Hop-on Hop-off Open Top Bus Tour
After arriving in pretty Windsor, you can join the open top bus tour and travel around the town as you wish! There are 10 stops across Windsor to hop on and off at including the quaint High Street, sprawling Windsor Great Park and prestigious Eton College. The on-board audio commentary will provide you with all the need-to-know facts about Windsor as you travel from A to B!

Windsor Castle
Your day out in Windsor includes entry to the beautifully regal Windsor Castle. It’s the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world! An official residence of Queen Elizabeth II, Windsor Castle features lavish State Rooms, landscaped gardens and colossal Round Tower.

You can explore the State Rooms, adorned with paintings by artists such as Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, and see the intricate Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House. This amazing dolls house features working plumbing, electricity and even a miniature wine cellar! St George’s Chapel is also a wonderful landmark to see during your visit to the Windsor Castle grounds; this Gothic church contains the tombs of ten sovereigns!

Return to London
Head back to Windsor and Eton Central Station for 5.55pm, as your return train to London will depart at 6.28pm. You will arrive back at Paddington Station in London at 6.59pm.
