Description
Immerse yourself in the world of Winston Churchill on this full-day tour.
Churchill War Rooms
Start your day by visiting the original underground bunker that served as Britain’s secret wartime headquarters during World War II. Left almost exactly as it was in 1945, walk through the narrow corridors, see the simple bedrooms used by staff, the tiny kitchen, and even Winston Churchill's private room with his desk and personal belongings.
See the Cabinet Room, where Churchill and his ministers met to make crucial decisions, and the Map Room, with maps still covered with pins and notes tracking troop movements across Europe.
Blenheim Palace
The second stop on this tour is Blenheim Palace with access to The Churchill Exhibition. A monumental house with 2,000 acres of beautiful parkland, Blenheim Palace is the only non-royal and non-religious country house in England to hold the title of Palace.
Built in 1705 and 1722, Blenheim Palace is the birthplace of the 1st Duke of Marlborough’s descendant, Winston Churchill, whose life and achievements are commemorated in a permanent exhibition in the suite of rooms in which he was born. After exploring the Palace, head outside for a stroll in its landscaped Park, designed by the renowned Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
