Description
Commemorating the centenary of the discovery that has fascinated people the world over, the largest collection of King Tutankhamun’s glittering belongings ever to travel out of Egypt will be on display at the Saatchi Gallery.

Featuring 150 original artefacts taken from the tomb of the famous Egyptian Pharaoh, 60 of which have never left Egypt, and after this world tour, never will again.

Tutankhamun was an Egyptian ruler who was the last of his royal family to rule during the end of the 18th dynasty, between 1334 and 1325 BC. His tomb was discovered by British explorer Howard Carter in excavations funded by Lord Carnarvon in1922, almost entirely intact, renewing the global interest in Ancient Egypt. Among the artefacts found and on display at the exhibit include the world-famous gold coffinette, used to store the liver of Tutankhamun and the life-sized dramatic guardian statues that flanked the sealed entrance to the tomb.

This is the last chance to see these groundbreaking, historically significant and beautiful objects outside of Egypt, before they return to their country of origin forever, to rest in the Egyptian Grand Museum, which is currently under construction.
