Description
Both the United Kingdom and the United States have much in common, so it’s no surprise that London is home to many attractions with American connections. Your tour will begin in Victoria, where you’ll find the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation HQ. Opened in 2010, the foundation works on initiatives in global health, development and education across Europe, the Middle East and East Asia.
The panoramic bus tour will take you past sights such as the Abraham Lincoln Statue, the new and former U.S. Embassies, Temple Gardens, London Bridge, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge, St Clement Dane’s Church, the High Commission of Canada and more.
Discover St Paul’s Cathedral, a magnificent architectural masterpiece dedicated to Paul the Apostle. Admire the spectacular Dome which stands at 365 metres or why not climb 257 steps to the Whispering Gallery, 376 to the Stone Gallery or 528 to the Golden Gallery! Inside, you’ll also find the American Memorial Chapel honouring the American servicemen and women who died in World War II.
Enjoy a photo stop at All Hallows by the Tower, the oldest church in London and where the 6th U.S. President got married before lunch at the Minories, a traditional pub offering a brilliant range of food and drink. The second photo stop of this tour will be at the Embassy of the Republic of Texas in St James’ Street.
The final stop will be a private tour of Benjamin Franklin House, the world’s only surviving residence of one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The Grade I home of Franklin has been restored and transformed into a museum, where you can learn all about his life and historical impact.
